Rachel Bowler - Private Tutor

Since gaining my first class degree in English in 2003, many people have asked me how I did it, and in doing so they have inspired me to pass on my knowledge to anyone seeking to fulfil their academic potential and improve their written English skills. With this goal in mind, I hope I can share my skills and experience with you, and provide the quality assistance you are looking for.

In addition to my first class degree, I hold the City and Guilds Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector qualification. More details about this course and my other qualifications can be found on the pages entitled Qualifications and Further Information.

Prior to becoming self-employed, I worked for over fifteen years as a PA at top accountancy and legal firms, gaining extensive experience working with English in a corporate setting, and in what were, often, demanding environments. The firms I worked for expected assistants to have excellent English language skills and an ability to apply their knowledge in a variety of ways in a business support role.

I also work as a proofreader and copy-editor, but for ethical reasons I do not provide tuition services to students I work with in a proofreading capacity.

I have enhanced DBS clearance that can be viewed on request.
